Harris hawk at Somerset House
Harris hawk spotted today at Somerset House attracting quite a bit of attention. Keeper says it used to be a hobby but now he is charged with pest control of pigeons and seagulls. Patrolling Trafalgar Square can apparently be a bit dicey due to competition from Peregrine falcons that have nested in St. Martin’s.

On a recent walk in the Chilterns, saw lots of Red Kites that have apparently become successful in the High Wycombe – Aylesbury area. Just thought I’d share that birds-of-prey nugget
